Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited superhero film Shaktimaan, directed by Basil Joseph, has been in the works for several years. New reports suggest that actress Wamiqa Gabbi is being considered to play the female lead opposite Singh. While this casting is yet to be officially confirmed, the pairing of the two actors is generating excitement among fans.

Media Reports suggest that discussions regarding the female lead are still ongoing, and Wamiqa Gabbi is seen as a strong contender for the role. Wamiqa, who has impressed audiences with her roles in Jubilee, Khufiya, and Baby John, could bring a fresh dynamic to the film, which has been under development for five years. According to the reports, a source added that the official casting will be confirmed once the script is locked and schedules are finalized.
In other news, Wamiqa has also reportedly bagged a role alongside Telugu actor Nani in an upcoming project. This adds to her growing list of projects in Bollywood and beyond.

Shaktimaan has faced some challenges since its announcement, including objections from Mukesh Khanna, the original Shaktimaan actor, who opposed the adaptation of his TV show into a film and expressed concerns over Singh's casting. However, despite these challenges, the project is moving forward.
Ranveer Singh, currently busy with Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller, is expected to begin shooting for Shaktimaan in March 2025. With several projects lined up, including Don 3 and Brahmastra Part 1: Dev, Ranveer’s fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.
