Report: Imtiaz Ali’s Next Netflix Project – A Romantic Drama in the Making?

Imtiaz Ali is reportedly working on a new romantic drama series for Netflix, with Avinash Tiwary, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Arjun Rampal in key roles. While official announcements have yet to be made, sources claim the project is titled O Saathi Rey and will explore the emotional complexities of an extramarital affair.

According to reports, the series is being written and produced by Imtiaz Ali, with his brother Sajid Ali set to direct. Avinash Tiwary and Aditi Rao Hydari are expected to play romantic leads, while Arjun Rampal will also have a significant role. Actress Ahsaas Channa has reportedly joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

Recently, the lead actors were seen outside Imtiaz Ali’s office for a script reading session, sparking speculation about the project. Fans are excited, especially since this marks Arjun Rampal’s first collaboration with Ali. Aditi Rao Hydari previously had a cameo in Rockstar, while Avinash Tiwary played the lead in Laila Majnu, a film that gained popularity after its re-release.

Apart from O Saathi Rey, Imtiaz Ali is said to be working on two other major projects—a period drama featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vedang Raina, and another titled Idiots of Istanbul, starring Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri.

Though details remain unconfirmed, O Saathi Rey is expected to be an intense and emotional love story. Fans are eagerly waiting for an official announcement and more insights into the plot and cast.
