The Raja Saab Postponed: No Summer Release for Prabhas’ Horror-Comedy
The makers of The Raja Saab have delayed its release due to extensive VFX work, despite earlier plans for an April 10 premiere.
The much-anticipated Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab will not be releasing on April 10 as initially planned. The film, directed by Maruthi, has been postponed due to ongoing post-production work. While the production house, People Media Factory, has not made an official statement, a source from the film’s unit confirmed the delay.
There had been speculation that the delay was caused by Prabhas’ ankle injury or his busy schedule with Hanu Raghavapudi’s upcoming film, rumored to be titled Fauji. However, a source clarified that Prabhas’ health or other commitments were not the reason behind the delay.
VFX Work Causing the Postponement
According to the source, The Raja Saab is a VFX-heavy film, and the director wants the visuals to be seamless for a better cinematic experience. The post-production team is still working on the visual effects, and the makers are waiting for significant progress before announcing a new release date. Several potential release slots are available later in the year, but no date has been finalized yet.
Production Delays Since 2022
The film, which went into production in 2022, has already faced multiple delays. By December 2024, the team had completed nearly 80% of the shoot, working on continuous day-and-night schedules. Despite expectations of a teaser release around Christmas or New Year, the makers did not provide any updates, leaving fans eagerly waiting for news.
Cast and Music
Apart from Prabhas, The Raja Saab features Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles. The music for the film is composed by Thaman S. As fans wait for an official announcement, the makers are expected to share updates once the VFX work reaches a satisfactory stage.
