Shah Rukh Khan, the king of Bollywood who usually makes headlines for his blockbuster films and iconic roles, recently found himself in a much darker spotlight. A death threat call demanding ₹50 lakh sent shockwaves through his massive fanbase. For anyone who’s grown up watching Shah Rukh’s charm light up the screen, this news felt like a gut punch. Fans were understandably worried and desperate for answers. But it seems the Mumbai Police were quick to take action, and all eyes soon turned to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where the alleged caller, Faizan Khan, was nabbed.

Faizan, a lawyer by profession, became the unexpected villain of this saga. He claimed he lost his phone just days before the threatening call was made. According to him, someone else must have used it to make the call, dragging him into a mess he insists he has no part in. But things took a twist when Faizan dodged the police's calls for questioning, citing his own safety concerns. He told the authorities that he had been receiving threats, making it impossible for him to travel to Mumbai safely. It wasn’t long before the police tracked him down in Raipur and took him into custody.

The story, however, goes deeper than just a random phone call. Faizan had previously lodged a complaint against Shah Rukh, not over any personal issue, but because of a scene from the actor’s film

Anjaam (1993). In the movie, Shah Rukh’s character is shown hunting a deer—a moment that sparked anger in Faizan, especially given his close ties to the Bishnoi community in Rajasthan. The Bishnois, known for their fierce protection of wildlife, particularly deer, took offense at the portrayal. Faizan felt it was disrespectful to their religious beliefs and lodged a complaint against the actor years ago. Now, with the threat call traced back to his number, Faizan believes he’s being set up as part of a larger scheme to frame him.

For fans who’ve been on edge since the news broke, Faizan’s arrest has brought a wave of relief. Still, there’s an air of confusion and suspicion surrounding the case. The Mumbai Police have registered it under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, charging Faizan with extortion and criminal intimidation. The legal proceedings are underway, with Faizan expected to be brought to Mumbai for further questioning.

The whole incident paints a grim picture of the reality celebrities face—constant scrutiny, random threats, and the dark side of fame that lurks behind the glamorous curtain. For many, Shah Rukh Khan is a symbol of joy, romance, and timeless cinema, so hearing about such threats feels personal, almost like a violation of a cherished bond between the star and his admirers.
