In the recent turn of events, a 24-year-old aspiring songwriter named Sohail Pasha was arrested by the Crime Branch on November 12, 2024, in Raichur, Karnataka. The aspiring songwriter allegedly sent death threats to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan demanding ₹5 crore, under the name of the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The arrest happened after Mumbai traffic police received alarming messages on November 7, claiming that the sender was a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The threats targeted not only Salman Khan but also a lyricist of a song from an upcoming film. The message conveyed a warning stating if the actor didn't comply with the demands made, the songwriter would face the consequences, essentially putting his ability to write in jeopardy.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Pasha, who is reportedly the lyricist of a song in Salman’s upcoming movie, allegedly issued these threats as a way to gain publicity for his work. According to the police, his motive was to use the scare tactic as a marketing ploy to draw attention to his songs.
Despite the ongoing threats, Salman Khan has been carrying on with his shooting schedule for the film Sikandar in Hyderabad. The actor is under tight security, with a four-level protection detail consisting of 50 to 70 personnel ensuring his safety. Additional precautions have also been implemented at his hotel and on set.
Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is set to release on Eid 2025. The movie features a star cast with Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, and Sharman Joshi playing important roles.
