In an interview with Mid-Day, Manoj Bajpayee revealed that the sudden fame and attention following Satya made him feel out of place and like an "impostor." He admitted that despite the film’s commercial and critical success, he received a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Still, he found it difficult to adapt to the privileges and spotlight. Experiences like staying in luxurious hotels or driving his car felt awkward and unfamiliar, as though he were inhabiting someone else’s life.

Manoj Bajpayee credited fellow actor Akshaye Khanna with helping him shift his mindset. He recounted a conversation in which Khanna advised him to embrace his success without guilt. Bajpayee recalled Khanna saying, "Why are you feeling so guilty about your success? Own it." This encouragement, he shared, helped him reconcile with the attention and privileges that accompanied his achievements.

Hailing from a small village in Bihar, Bajpayee had aspired to act since childhood. However, his path to stardom was marked by years of struggle and minor roles before his breakthrough in Satya. Over the years, he has solidified his place in Indian cinema with acclaimed performances in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Special 26, and Satyameva Jayate. He has also gained acclaim in the OTT space with popular series like The Family Man.

The new season, set to release on Amazon Prime Video during Diwali 2025, promises another engaging chapter, with Jaideep Ahlawat joining the cast. The re-release of Satya stands as a tribute to Bajpayee’s transformative journey, underscoring how a single conversation can redefine a star’s relationship with success.
